Advising companies on effective corporate sustainability

Meet Pete

I’m a sustainability strategist with almost a decade of experience working across sustainability strategy, analytics and disclosure initiatives.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with clients across a range of sectors — including aviation, energy, engineering, finance, and tech — to build sustainability programs to help turn sustainability from a compliance obligation into a competitive strategy and a compelling story that are credible under scrutiny.

“The strongest sustainability programs don't treat strategy, analytics, and disclosure as separate workstreams handed off between teams — they're built as one continuous case for action, from the governance models to the dashboards to the annual reports.”

MY APPROACH

Approaching Sustainability With Versatility and Adaptability

Sustainability has traditionally been treated as a risk-management exercise by companies — something to act on to avoid repercussions down the line. But a clear case isn't the same as tangible progress. Even within the same team, the people setting strategy, building the analytical case, and communicating it to stakeholders often bring different training and different instincts to the table — and that gap between disciplines, more than any lack of evidence, is where progress tends to stall.

Closing that gap doesn't require more data, or a better slogan. It requires someone who can move fluidly between the three: framing the strategic stakes, building the analytical case, and shaping the story those two things tell — without losing accuracy or the reader's interest.

I built my career around specifically closing that gap. Across roles spanning strategy, analytics, and disclosure, I've learned to think like a strategist, work like an analyst, and write like someone whose job is to be believed — not in sequence, but at the same time, on the same problem.

MY EXPERIENCE

My Career in Sustainability

Early Career at CDP and AccountAbility

Before consulting, I saw the sustainability landscape from a few different angles — working with CDP's Supply Chain team, assessing corporate ESG disclosures at AccountAbility, and later co-founding an independent advisory venture focused on bringing analytical rigor and creativity to corporate sustainability challenges.

Sustainability Consulting at ERM at Anthesis

My career really took shape at ERM, where I worked with clients end-to-end — developing GHG reporting strategy, building the analytics behind it, and writing the disclosures that carried results into their annual reports. Owning every stage gave me a rare, hands-on grasp of how strategy, data, and disclosure actually connect. At Anthesis, I went deeper rather than wider, focusing on ESG reporting and disclosure across frameworks like GRI, ISSB, and CSRD to help clients turn raw performance data into disclosures that could tell a story while withstanding real scrutiny.

Today, I run my own practice — bringing strategy, analytics, and disclosure together for clients directly, without the boundaries of any single firm's specialism. My work is about closing the gap between ambition and evidence, and between evidence and a story worth telling — increasingly with the support of AI-embedded tools that make data more accessible and the story easier to tell well.
